Hello In Stitches Family! It’s great to have you back this week! We’ve been doing a lot of behind the scenes blogs lately and then we realized that you might not know who we are! So today we’re going to meet the makers of your favorite t-shirt! (or backpack or jacket or you get the idea).
Hi! We’re the Rossman family and we own and operate In Stitches Embroidery and Patch! We’ve been married 32 years this year! We met in high school, in business math to be exact. Twenty-two years ago we welcomed our son, Wayne, into the family and he now works with us! We are a family of animal lovers! Right now we have seven chickens, two dogs, two cats, two horses, and one rabbit! We were a military family for twenty-one years with Mike serving in the Air Force in scheduling and flight records management. The wonderful thing about military life is meeting so many different people. We feel this has really helped us to serve our customers better.
We opened In Stitches Embroidery on July 1, 2011, with the philosophy that we treat people the way we want to be treated. We also decided that we were going to be a debt free business.. In order to do that we have slowly purchased machines as we’ve been able to afford them. We currently have five embroidery machines, screen press, dye sublimation printer, vinyl cutter, laser and most recently a digital printer. This philosophy has served us well this year with COVID-19.
Introducing Mike! He’s our resident computer expert! He digitizes all our embroidery designs and utilizes his graphic arts degree in creating other artwork for our clients. Creating is definitely his favorite thing about the business! When he’s not working, this time of year he loves to hunt and fly R/C planes. You’ll most often find him layered up with a button-up Carhartt Twill Shirt. He’s a perfectionist who loves the Black Hills of South Dakota!
Let’s find out a bit more about Wendy! On these cool fall mornings, she loves to layer up with anything microfleece. Even after all these years, Wendy still loves watching the embroidery machine sew out a design. She’s been to twenty states but she always comes back to South Dakota because of the people! Her very first pet was a white horse named Stardust and she’s had horses ever since! She loves to garden and take care of her animals! Wendy is a former accountant and numbers gal.
And here is Wayne! Wayne has been a part of In Stitches since it started! He loves to use the embroidery machine but he’s very careful to not get stuck by the needles, which there are quite a few of! His favorite thing to make with the embroidery machine is patches! During the fall, he thinks hoodies and Halloween are the best! He also thinks the views in South Dakota are better than anywhere else! He got thrust into adulthood when he broke his leg at a job site when he was working as an electrician! That’s a hard way to find that out!
