How We Do That: Screen Printing Multicolor Images

Hello In Stitches Family!

We’ve talked a lot about screen printing around here, but we’ve never really talked about multicolor images and what goes into them.

(Are you wondering about Screen Printing? Check out the blogs from here, here, here, here, and here.)

So let’s take a look at how we do it:

Screen #1 – Base Color: This is most important for dark colors.

Screen #2 – Red

Screen #3 – Blue

Screen #4 – Gold

Screen #5 – Highlight White – this step just brings everything together

Did you notice that effect we got when we added the blue to the yellow? It made green! The old adage is true – we did learn everything we needed to know in kindergarten.

As you can see, it takes some effort to get a multicolor screen printing design, which is one of the reasons why we recommend screen printing for larger orders.
