One of the things I love about the work we do is that I get to create things that I would want in my own home.
For instance, a few years ago, we needed a sample to promote our ability to put a full-color image onto objects through a process called dye sublimation.
So, we created a customized dog bowl featuring a picture of our German Shepherd, Reha. Little did we know that we would lose our beloved girl just three weeks later. Now we have her bowl to cherish and remember her by. We keep her collar and a plaster of her paw print in it.
On a happier note, we have a realtor client who takes pictures of the homes she sells. We dye sublimate the image onto a slate rock and she gives it to her clients when they close on the house. It’s a wonderful way to celebrate such a momentous occasion!
What does an image mean to you? When you put a picture on a mouse pad, or a pillow, or a holiday ornament, what does it do for you?
I see it as a great way to keep our loved ones close to us. We can surround ourselves with our memories, displaying them on objects that we use and enjoy.
